I feel strongly about environment, conservation and sustainability from an early age, and have been privileged to have the exposure to related volunteering in project and activities on a regular basis. I have been visiting Palamau Tiger Reserve in Jharkhand, India every year for over a decade, and it offers a great window to observe the dynamics between native village communities and the surrounding forest environment.
I believe that it is up to my generation to better the environment, and it is even more important for the next generation to understand the environment’s value as well, which is why many of my experiences have focused on student awareness in my sphere of influence.
With this focus and objective, I have volunteered in various community and school-based programs as outlined:
Volunteering on conservation and sustainability projects, Abhilasha Foundation

As a part of the governing body of this NGO (Secretary), I have co-conceived and led conservation and awareness programs with other NGO members on an ongoing basis
- I have volunteered for projects around tree plantation, water conservation, biofertilizer project, seed bomb project and educational support to forest schools
- Participated in awareness sessions on long term sustainability through self-help groups
Make a Difference (MAD) Club, NGO in India- Secretary, AES ’18-’19
I have been volunteering and part of the leadership team of MAD club that promotes bridging social inequality through education
- As part of MAD leadership team, I contributed to decisions that deeply affect the way the club functions; prepared lesson plans and engagement activities with students
- Taught English to students of various proficiency levels over the past 1.5 years and continue to do so; I also engage with the kids on just cohesive collaboration through games and sports outside of teaching
Eco Club, Member, AES ’19-’21
The Club works towards increasing awareness on key environmental issues and making school events and festivals more sustainable and eco friendly
- Started a plastic audit of the high school to identify key areas where plastic usage should be decreased
- Assisted the Eco Club leaders in giving presentations to middle school students to segregate waste and conserve water properly
- Volunteered for the school’s Air quality Mela and Fall Fiesta
Recycling Initiative, Member, TASIS, UK’17-‘19
In my school, TASIS UK, I was part of the recycling initiative that worked on educating and implementing recycling initiatives within the school and nearby communities to drive sustainability.
